About this development

Expansion of the Dorstfontein Coal Mine (West Mine Expansion Project). This would entail opencast and underground mining. In addition the project will also involve construction of a dense-media separation (DMS) plant as well as an 10,2 km overland conveyor system and an above ground stockpile for coal at the rapid-loading terminal (RLT). The proposed West Mine Expansion will be an extension of all the mining activities on DCM. The DCM West Mine Expansion Project will be located 10km, north of Kriel in the Mpumalanga Province. Estimated project value: R650 million
