About this development
Construction of Cluster 4: Water backlog: Lubisi Scheme: Water treatment works, pumping stations, primary steel pipelines and reservoir to Sikungwini in Lubisi, 30 km from Lady Frere, Eastern Cape. The works comprises the supply and construction of the following: Raw water extraction from the Lubisi Dam; 4.1 ML / day WTW including lined earth balancing dam, chemical and all administrative buildings, two horizontal settlement tanks, steel gravity sand filters, clear water reservoir, sludge lagoons, staff housing and appurtenant works; cathodic protection to the pipelines; three pumping stations, each with approximately 100 l/s capacity; steel mains 300mm diameter and 10 km long; PVC-U mains 300mm in diameter and 1.2 km long; 3 x concrete reservoirs: 1.25 ML, 300 kl and 200 kl.
