About this development
Demothballing of the Camden Power Station, which is situated close to Ermelo in Mpumalanga. Power Station consists of eight x 200MW units, which totals as installed capacity of 1600MW. Unit 6 at Camden Power Station was identified as the first unit to be commissioned. Another 2 units to be commissioned in 2006, 3 units in 2007 and the last of the 8 units in 2008. The estimated spend on demothballing Camden power station has increased to R5,2 billion, which is an R800 million increase from the original figure.
