About this development
The project is part of the first regulatory round of the Egyptian government's Feed-in Tarrif programme which aims to procure 4 30 MW or renewable-energy capacity. The Cairo Solar Farm solar photovoltaic development will be located in Egypt's new and renewable Energy Agency's Benban 1.8GW PV solar park comprising 39 separate PV plots. The project will comprise a single-axis tracking system of about 206 309 PV panels. Power will be sent to an inverter and fed into the utility power grid system through the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company substation. The project is estimated at $115 million.
