About this development
The Booysendal project is based on a 103 million ounce resource which is shallow and conducive to mechanised mining methods. Total extent of the Booysendal property covers some 15 000 ha, with a strike length of 14,5 km. Both the upper-group two (UG2) and Merensky reefs offer accessible surface outcrops. The Booysendal Platinum Project is wholly owned by Northam Platinum and is an opencast mine. Project Value: R3,9 billion.
