About this development
Construction of a shopping Mall, situated on the corners of Preekstoel- , Buite-, and Baartman Roads, in Bethlehem, Free State. Phase 1 will consist of approx 40 000 m². The development will comprise of retail, home décor and commercial. Planned at the heart of the centre will be a landscaped food & entertainment court with a retractable roof allowing the seating areas to be opened up to the sky. The centre will be designed to allow future expansion as demand for retail space grows, but maintains the integrity of the natural environment. The total size of the broader development is approx 47ha, of which 24ha of conservation area will be held intact. The layout of the development has been specifically planned around this area in order to conserve the existing Gobles Folley dam and the vegetation on the property. A walkway, which can be used by the community, will be built around the dam. Provision has been made directly behind the dam to include a children’s play area.
