About this development
Construction of a hydroelectric power plant. The R77 million project will comprise the development, ownership and operation of a 7MW hydro scheme. The plant consists of two separate generation sites. There will be a 3MW run-of-river plant located on the As river and a 4MW plant located on the Sol Plaatje dam. The hydropower scheme will provide enough electricity to meet the requirements of about 11 000 low-income households in the Bethlehem area, Free State.
