About this development
Extensive refurbishment of the Arnot power station, approximately 50km east of Middelburg in Mpumalanga, in order to meet increasing demand for power in South Africa. The Arnot Capacity Increase Project. Arnot has six 350-MW units, making up a total installed capacity of 2 100 MW. The aim is to increase the capacity of the power station by 300 MW. Some 288 new pulverised coal firing ceramite burners in six boilers are being installed to replace the station's original stainless-steel burners. Project value : R1.48 billion.
