About this development

The proposed Akanani mine project is an underground platinum mine located approximately 25 km northwest of Mokopane in Limpopo. The surface infrastructure will consist of a concentrator, shaft system, ore stockpiles, waste rock dump, office buildings, change houses, backfill plant, ventilation shaft, fan and wastewater treatment works. The underground workings will span over 4.095ha and will commence at a depth of 8/50m below surface. A bulk raw water pipeline will be in stalled within the existing road reserves from the Doorndraai dam to Akanani. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is lat: -23.9874363, long: 28.8975518.
