Residents, road users and businesses in the Clifton area are advised of a slope stabilisation project along Victoria Road.

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate started work on the road yesterday.

‘The slope stabilisation work to be done is due to this failing granite slope and if not attended to may result in a potentially dangerous situation for road users in the area and neighbouring properties, as the road could collapse,’ says Rob Quintas, the City’s Mayco member for urban mobility.

‘This specific site is next to a public road, so it will remain in use during the project and traffic will be accommodated accordingly.’

‘I ask residents to please avoid slowing down to observe the work being done on the slope as this will cause unnecessary congestion along Victoria Road over the next three months.’

The work will last until 28 June 2024, from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Monday. Some work will also occur on Saturdays, if required, from 9am to 3pm.
