The Maruleng Local Municipality says work will begin on three road projects in Sedawa, Makgaung and Essex after the municipality received an additional R65 million in the Municipal Infrastructure Grant.

The mayor Tsheko Mosulwa handed over three contractors today, 15 April and says work will be done in phases for the next three years.

Musolwa says communities and learners in these villages experienced challenges in the past especially during rainy seasons, but construction of the roads will bring the much-needed relief to them.

He says they will bring socio-economic development by providing job opportunities to the local people and small businesses who are sub-contracted to the projects.

Musolwa also says road infrastructure projects increase public sector investment in communities, adding that the municipality is committed to building strategic roads in all communities.
