Zomba, Jali, Phalombe, Chitakale Road, Malawi

Construction of Zomba (Ndege), Jali, Phalombe, Chitakale road (S144, S147 and S148) in Malawi. The construction works are split into two lots: Lot 1 works shall include: (i) Upgrading of about 68 km of existing narrow earth road to a bituminous surfaced road; (ii) Construction of pipe culverts, box ridges and rehabilitation of one double lane concrete bridges; (iii) The works include appurtenant works such as side-drains, stone pitching, gabions, kerbs, road signs, road markings etc; (iv) The road traverses through the districts of Zomba and Phalombe; (v) The intended completion period of the works is 20 months for both lot 1 and 2 combined; (vi) A margin of 10% domestic preference shall be applied for domestic contractors and joint ventures eligible for the preference; (vii) Lot 2 works shall starts after successful completion of lot 1 and shall include upgrading of about 34 km of existing narrow earth road to a bituminous surfaced road the same as lot 1.
