About this development
The Zanaga Iron Ore Project is located in the Lekoumou District, in the south west of the Republic of Congo in West Africa. The deposit is close to the border with Gabon, approximately 300 km northeast of the port city of Pointe Noire and 250km northwest of the Congolese capital Brazzaville. It is expected that the iron ore mined at the Zanaga Project will be processed on site and then transported by train to the Group’s proposed port site near Pointe Noire. Estimates are that it will cost US$7.4 billion to develop a 30 to 45 million tonne a year mine. Estimated captial expenditure : $7.4 billion.
