About this development
Construction of the Witkrans Photovoltaic Solar Energy Facility on Remaining Extent of Portion 3 (a Portion of Portion 2); Remaining Extent of Portion 4 (a Portion of Portion 2); Remaining Extent of Portion 5 (a Portion of Portion 2); Remaining Extent of Portion 6 (a Portion of Portion 2); and Portion 8 (a Portion of Portion 1) of the Farm Onderstepoort 98, approximately 30km north west of Rustenburg within the Rustenburg Local Municipality, North West. The solar PV facility will comprise of PV modules and mounting structure, inverters and transformers, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), site and internal access roads (up to 10m wide), site offices and maintenance buildings, including workshop areas for maintenance and storage, temporary and permanent laydown area, for health, safety and security reasons, the facility will be required to be fenced off from the surrounding farms, facility grid connection infrastructure and Eskom grid connection infrastructure and will have a contracted capacity of up to 240MW. The GPS has been estimated at Farm Onderstepoort 98 25°25'09.1"S 27°02'19.8"E
