Development of Western Platinum's Middelkraal No 2 Vertical Shaft, Rustenburg, North West Province. The proposed MK2 Vertical Shaft and associated infrastructure will be situated in the district of Rustenburg. MK2 will be situated on Portion 44 of the farm Middelkraal 466JQ. The position of the shaft is intended to be 2430m N-NW of the existing Hossy Shaft Complex and 290m S-SE of the Western Platinum's No 6 Tailings Dam. MK2 is planned to be a 1124m deep vertical shaft and a 812m deep vertical shaft, with an operational life of approximately 31 years.
