About this development
Upgrading of the existing sewer reticulation system, Contract 1 in Waterfall Township, KSD Ward 1 and 2, near Mthatha, O.R. Tambo District Municipality, Eastern Cape. Value of R28 867 576.26. The scope of works includes the construction of approximately 14.936km of gravity sewer network and the installation of approximately 450 new manholes in the Waterfall area. It includes erf or house connections to the sewer reticulation system. Upgrades to the Waterfall pump house include the installation of a silt trap, improvement of the stormwater drainage system, rewiring of the electrical connection, and installation of two waste skips. At the New Bright Pump Station, works include the installation of two waste skips, renovation of the burnt guardhouse and construction of an access road to the pump station. Mechanical works include the installation of 15mm manual screens at the Waterfall pump station and the installation of two sewer meters at each of three pump stations. The central GPS co-ordinates of the site are 31°36'18.2"S 28°48'58.4"E
