About this development
Construction of a wind energy facility to generate approximately 25 megawatts of electricity near Vredenburg in the Western Cape. Two 66kV overhead powerlines are to be constructed which will connect into the Eskom grid at the Fisheries Linking Substation. The site is situated outside of an urban area. The proposed wind farm would consist of 17 x 1.5 MW turbines and will be located on the farms Waterklip and Zandfontein (Remainder of Farm 103, Waterklip, portion 6 of Farm 103 Waterklip, portion 3 of Farm 105 Zandfontein and portion 5 of Farm 105 Zandfontein. The site covers an area that totals approximately 400ha.
