Project overview
About this development
Construction of the following transmission lines in Ghana: VTR11: Construction of 26 km 161 kV transmission line from Achimota to Volta VTR12: Construction of 12 km 161 kV Achimota to Mallam transmission line; VTR13: Construction of 12 km 161 kV K1BSP – K2BSP transmission line. The works required under the project will involve decommissioning of the existing transmission line: Reconstruction of 26 km of two (2 no.) single circuit 161 kV lines between Volta - Achimota Substation with 161 kV TERN double circuit line; reconstruction of 12 km single conductor double circuit 161 kV line between the Achimota Mallam Substations with reconstruction of the existing 12 km of single circuit 161 kV line between the 161 kV Kumasi Substation (K1BSP) and 161 kV Anwomaso Substation (K2BSP) with a 161 kV double circuit line using twin bundle TERN conductors. The works shall include all relevant designs, procurement, installation and commissioning of 161 kV HVAC overhead transmission line as well as all associated surveys, engineering, civil works and relevant substation termination works. The new lines would be constructed within the existing ROW. The works involves the replacement of the existing towers with suitably designed lattice towers to carry twin bundle TERN conductors as well as OPGW and Alumoweld Shieldwire. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is 5.612781, -0.234345
