About this development
The Vendanta Power Plant (VPP) is planned to be situated on the farm Dalyshope 232 LQ, located near the town of Stockpoort within the Lephalale Local Municipality in Limpopo Province. The VPP comprises the construction, commissioning and operation of a 600 Mega Watt (MW) coal-fired thermal power plant, comprising two 300 MW units, and associated infrastructure. The envisaged VPP will obtain coal from Anglo American Thermal Coal’s (AATC) proposed Dalyshope Phase 1 Colliery, which is currently in its feasibility development phase. The VPP will combust a blended coal stream utilising both low-grade coal and Run of Mine (RoM) coal from the Dalyshope Phase 1 Colliery for the generation of electricity.
