Project overview
About this development
Construction of a solar farm in Upington. A site has been identified in Upington, close to the Orange River in the Northern Cape, largely because of its geographic location and the amount of sun that is available, the nature of the land available in that part of the country, so all of those factors were taken into account. The solar park, which would be one of the biggest in the world, would cost about R150-billion to develop and could host photovoltaic and concentrated photovoltaic plants, as well as concentrating solar power technologies.
