About this development
Upgrading of section 7 of the N9 between Wolwefontein and Colesberg, Western Cape. The upgrade would involve the rehabilitation of the existing road surface, repairs to structures and minor ancillary works (km 63.63 to km 94.84) as well as the addition of 2.5m surfaced shoulders from km 63.63 to km 81.20. The project would also entail the construction of a new grade separated interchange to improve safety at the N1/N9 intersection in Colesberg. The new interchange would require the expropriation of land. Three existing borrow pits along this section of the N9 would be extended to source material for the proposed upgrade and rehabilitation project.
