About this development
This project is for upgrading of Ipole - Rungwa Road (172.4 km) to Bitumen Standard. The Ipole-Rungwa road is located in Tabora region in Tanzania and joins the Mbeya-Chunya-Itigi-Mkiwa road at Rungwa village and the Tabora-Ipole Mpanda road at Ipole village in Sikonge district. The road is an un-engineered earth/gravel road. It is currently undergoing various interventions ranging from spot improvement to rehabilitation in some sections. Although the road is passable during the dry seasons, some of its sections become impassable during the rain or wet seasons which hinder transportation of goods and passengers.
