Upgrades and additions at Kromhoek Combined School at Clydesdale, uMzimkhulu, Harry Gwala District, KwaZulu Natal. Value of R81 205 553,20. Scope of works: Construction is proposed in three sections, to ensure the existing school continues to function during the construction process: demolition of existing all existing structures, removing of existing kitchen containers, decanting; 2 existing classrooms to be recited and used as store rooms, provision of 13 new mobile classrooms (park homes), provision of 3 new mobile offices for staff (park homes), 1 Kitchen (park home), 1 lecture room (park home) to be used as a library, 17 chemical toilets, the construction of a temporary access road to provide access to the various construction sections, the construction of temporary paving etc. Decent classrooms when section 2 is constructed, 1 Administration block with principal’s office, staff room, reception and foyer, stock room, kitchen, 2 sick rooms, 2 offices, records room, and print room, 16 standard classrooms, 1 team teaching, 1 media centre, 1 computer room, 1 multi-purpose room, 1 groundsman and store, 1 general store, 2 grade R classrooms, 2 HOD offices, 3 work rooms, 1 new waiting room, 1 interview room, 1 new server room, 6 new store rooms, 1 Grade R toilet block (new paraplegic and 4WC), 1 new girls toilet block (8WC), 1 new boys toilet block (4WC + 3 Urinal), 1 toilet block (Male staff 1WC and 2 urinal) (Female staff 2WC) (Para toilet), 1 New guard house, 1 refuse yard with burn pit, 1 SNP kitchen with bulk storeroom, vegetable store and equipment storeroom. All associated external works, including assembly area, roads and 18 parking bays, paving, covered walkways, storm water drainage, soil drainage, water reticulation, 15 tanks and tanks stands, elevated water tank, sports field, combi court, fencing and gates, external benches, electrical installations, mechanical installations including fire protection, signage, etc. Existing entrance wall being retained.
