Upgrade to the Klaarwater Substation. The proposed site is located on Erf 7013 Pinetown and Erf 6793 Pinetown. The physical address is Wilshire Road, Klaarwater, Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. eThekwini Electricity needs to increase output capacity at the existing Klaarwater Substation. In order to do this they need to install a new 275/132 kV transformer within the existing Klaarwater Substation and upgrade all of the existing four transformers. The necessary work includes associate infrastructure such as a short lengths of overhead transmission line and pylon supports. The transformer and all associate infrastructure will be within the existing fence line of the Substation. All electrical connections to the existing grid will also be made within the existing fence line of the Substation.
