About this development
Upgrade of Charlton Terrace, Bertrams Street, Derby Road and Beit Street. The Proposed upgrade is situated in New Doornfontein and Bertrams in Ellis Park, an additional lane will be added along Charlton Terrace in order to alleviate traffic in the area. The streets will be made pedestrian friendly and lighting will be put up along the streets. The pavement will be upgraded along both sides of the road and a public transport pull in lane will be created in Derby Road. The road will be made pedestrian friendly. Lighting, bus shelters and streets furniture will be added. In Beit Street a public transport pull in lane will also be created and the area around the University Square will be paved on both sides of the road. The street will be made pedestrian friendly and street lights will be put along the road. Bus shelters and street furniture will also be added.
