About this development
Upgrade of Distillery Road in Wellington, in the Western Cape. The project will be undertaken along a 1.4km section of Distillery Road, within the existing road reserve. The road will be expanded from 9.2m to 14.8m in width with 1.8m wide surfaced sidewalks, which will allow for two 3.4m lanes per direction to accommodate the left and right turning of heavy vehicles. The stormwater system upgrade will include a concrete culvert to replace the current unlined channel on the western side. The existing bulk water supply line will be moved to the western boundary of the road reserve to allow for the construction of the new road profile, the future maintenance of the road and the servicing of the bulk water supply line.
