About this development
The project involves the upgrading, expansion and redesign of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi, Kenya, at a cost of approximately $68.8 million (US). The extension of the passenger-terminal apron will include a total pavement area of about 100 000m², about 50 000m² of rigid concrete pavement, 50 000m² of block paving and 50 000m² of asphalt concrete paving. Associated stormwater drainage works will also be included. The second phase will take 18 months to complete. It will involve the construction of Unit Four terminal and a three storey car park to accommodate 1,500 cars and another parking for 400 cars. The third phase would involve alteration of the ring building and arrival terminals.
