About this development
R200 million upgrade and expansion at the Alberton City Shopping Centre to create another 11 500m² of retail space. The extension brings on stream new stores including Edgars, additional undercover parking and a modern security control room. The centre currently has 39 000m² of retail space with Woolworths, Checkers and Game among the anchor tenants. The Alberton Shopping Centre is located in Voortrekker Road, Alberton, Gauteng. Phase 1 of the upgrade and expansion will include new stores being added to the retail mix, including Edgars, as well as a sophisticated security control room and an additional 880 parking bays in an undercover parkade. The extension will also sport a beautiful and convenient new entrance that will lead directly into the new part of the Centre along with new escalators and lifts to all levels. Phase 2 will consist of revamping the remainder of the existing mall.
