Unki Platinum Mine, Zimbabwe

Anglo Platinum is developing its first platinum mine in Zimbabwe, along the Unki deposit. initially the mine was expect to produce 85 000t/m; however an additional feasibility study has shown that the mine could ramp up output to 120 000t/m from 85 000t/m at a higher cost. Work on the project include the construction of an 8km pipeline from the Luciliapoort dam to the mine reservoir, and a 132/11kV substation and a 33km powerline. The estimated final cost for the project is R2.7 billion.
