Construction of Parkside, the extension of the Umhlanga Ridge New Town Centre in KwaZulu-Natal (Phase 4), will be anchored by the Chris Saunders Park, a 2ha green belt that honours the former Tongaat-Hulett Group chairman. The new suburb to be built on the land between the multi-billion-rand Gateway shopping centre and the Prestondale residential area brings on-stream an upmarket residential and commercial mixed zone comprising four and six-storey buildings that architecturally combine glass and stone.
