Twangiza Gold Project, Democratic Republic of Congo

The Twangiza gold project is located in the South Kivu Province in Democratic Republic of Congo. The Twangiza project has measured and indicated mineral resources of 5,6 million ounces of gold (Au). The project entails the construction of a mine that will produce 2.6 million ounces of gold over a 15 year mine life. A separate standalone 30 MW hydroelectric plant to supply power to the project will also be constructed, The initial project costs are estimated at $377.43 million. The hydroelectric plant will cost $133.8 million, including a contingency of $20.1 million.
