About this development
The project will entail the construction of a large pumped-storage scheme, situated near Roossenekal, between the Nebo plateau and the Steelpoort river valley, in Limpopo, dubbed "Project Lima". Project Lima is now known as Tubatse Hydropower Pump Storage Scheme and is envisaged as a 1 500 MW plant, comprising four 374 MW units. Total project cost is estimated at R 19-billion.
