About this development
Construction of a coal-fired power plant with a generating capacity of up to 1200MW (to be developed in 2 phases of 600MW each) on a site near Lephalale in the Limpopo Province. Two site alternatives have been identified for investigation within the environmental process, i.e. site alternative 1 which includes the farm Graafwater 456 and Goedehoop 457 and site alternative 2 which includes the farms Eendragtpan 451, Gelykebult 450 and Vooruit 449. Three site alternatives have been identified for the ash dump: Farm Vooruit 449, Farm Appelvlakte 448A and Farm Jackalsvley 309
