Transalloys (Pty) Ltd, a producer of export grade Siliconmanganese, as an energy intensive electricity user, proposes to develop a coal-fired power plant and associated infrastructure adjacent to its smelter complex near eMalahleni, Mpumalanga Province. The proposed power plant will have a net generating capacity of between 55MW and 150MW in order to meet Transalloys’ current electricity demands and future expansion requirements.
