About this development
Construction and asphalting of the road sections forming the missing links of the main axis and the Chadian branch of the Trans-Sahara highway over a total distance of 565km, the construction of a 543m long bridge over the Niger River at Farie, with 3km access roads and the construction of infrastructure to ease transport and transit at the Algeria / Niger and Niger / Chad borders. In Algeria, 10km of road from the Guezamm customs post to the Niger border will be built and asphalted. The Trans-Saharan Road, from the north to the south of Africa, is designed to connect the entire Maghreb and Sahel sub-region through four sections linking two capitals of Maghreb (Algiers and Tunis) to four sub-Saharan capitals: Bamako, Niamey, N'Djamena and Lagos over a distance of 9,400 km.
