Towers West - ABSA Office Park

Construction of an ABSA Office Park to be known as Towers West, which will stretch over a 45 000m² area, on the corner of Delvers and Marshall Streets in central Johannesburg, in Gauteng. The new building will span three city blocks and will comprise an office building taking up two city blocks (Blocks A & B), with a bridge over Marshall Street, and an eleven storey parkade (Block C) on the third city block. The office buildings will comprise 15 floors, and four parking basements. The parkade building will provide 18 levels of parking space, comprising four basements and 14 storeys accommodating over 100 cars on each level. Plans are also underway to include an energy centre in the development to service the surrounding ABSA campus. The energy centre will self-generate electricity through gas, without emitting smoke or exhaust gas. It will run from 07:00 to 20:00 on weekdays and will save the company more than two-thirds of its years electricity costs. Value: R1.2 billion.
