Construction of the Thuchi Dam along Thuchi River in Mururiri, Embu County, Kenya. The proposed scope of works involve the construction of an embankment fill dam with a storage capacity of 23 million cubic metres expected to produce 149 000m³/day of water to serve a projected ultimate water demand by 2065. The major components of the works will comprise the dam embankment, spillway, diversion works, outlet works, resettlement/relocation of affected population and associated infrastructure.
