Premier Milling's ten derelict silos and adjoining buildings are to be converted into apartments, including two penthouses with roof gardens. The complex will comprise one-bedroomed apartments of 95m², two bedroomed apartments of 128m², and two penthouses of 200m². The ten silos are built in two rows of five on a slight incline of 2,4m, at a height of 36m, with a diameter of 6m each. The apartments will include large windows and balconies. A wooden deck with a pool, a small gym and a sun deck will stretch outwards over the adjacent building. Parking will be in the next building, and walkways will extend from the parking area to each unit. The building consists of nine storeys, excluding the penthouse lofts. First phase will be known as the Segstone Silos and value is approximately R27 million. The R100 million phase 2, Grand Silo's will have more that 250 apartments on 15 floors.
