About this development
Establishment of the Okuku to Hlabisa 88kV sub-transmission line and the Hlabisa substation. The Hlabisa town has begun attracting several developers, investors and businesses thus resulting in a significant local growth. Hlabisa town is currently supplied by the Nongoma substation which is located 50km away. The establishment of the Hlabisa substation will shorten the Nongoma networks and deload the Nongoma transformer. The Hlabisa substation will also cater for future developments and address the quality of supply and voltage regulation problems in the Hlabisa area, KwaZulu-Natal.
