About this development
Installation of a second Bagfilter at Blast furnace D with suction points at the Flexowell conveyors for Mittal Steel Vanderbijlpark Steel (MSVS), in the Gauteng Province. The stockhouse where the baghouse operated, currently has a filter capacity of 4800 Am3/min, and is not sufficient enough to extract all of the dust particles created by the operations. The current skip system has no extraction points at the charge or discharge points. It is to be replaced by an enclosed Flexowell conveyor system. A baghouse comprises a number of compartments. Within each compartment is a large cloth or fibreglass bag. These bags filter the fugitive dust particles from the air that has been vacuumed from certain areas of the actual plant.
