About this development
Construction of the Soy-Nervillus water supply project in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. Project cost has not been disclosed. Scope of works could include: The project aims to improve water supply in Soy, Kosachei, and Kamagut areas of Uasin Gishu County and includes: Rehabilitation and expansion of the Soy Dam embankment to increase storage capacity (~700,000m³ earth dam, embankment raising, slope protection and spillway construction). Construction of a new 6,500m³/day conventional water treatment works with all ancillary structures i.e. staff houses, administration buildings and a laboratory. A new 350mm diameter, 650m long, steel gravity raw water main from the intake to a new water treatment works. Treated water pumping mains to elevated storage tanks at Ngobitwa and Kamoret Schools. Construction of 2 new 500m³ elevated steel storage tanks, additional ground 250m³ and 50m³ ground concrete tank. New HDPE distribution mains from the elevated tanks at Ngobitwa and Kamoret schools varying in diameter from DN250 to DN63mm of total length 96km to serve the Soy, Kosachei and Kamagut schemes.
