About this development
Construction of the services and infrastructure for a large new surrounding waterfront project which will consist of waterfront shops, restaurants and residential units. A boardwalk is likely to encircle the vlei which will be approximately 50ha in size, about the same size as 50 rugby fields. The site is located on the R44, opposite to the Somerset Mall, in Western Cape. The Paardevlei lake which is at the centre of the site measures 45ha. The property was originally home to AECI's Somerset West operations.
