About this development
Construction of a commercial component for Somerset Lakes – a R1.3bn secure eco and lifestyle estate in Somerset West, in the Western Cape. The safety and security elements of the estate are enhanced by state of the art features including biometric fingerprint access control, an electrified perimeter fence, high-definition perimeter surveillance cameras, 24 hour guarding and patrols, and an internal response system. In addition, a Curro Castle Nursery School, a clubhouse and a convenience shopping centre, forming part of the greater Somerset Lakes development area, is also in the planning. The green belt system includes 15ha of landscaped parks, gardens and a natural forest with hiking trails and cycling tracks, and a 6ha dam ideal for fishing, rowing, canoeing and windsurfing.
