About this development
Lonmin PLC proposes to establish a 1 MW solar photovoltaic power plant located over 3.5 hectares which will include minor internal roads and services. The solar power plant will be located near Marikana in the North West Province. It is proposed that the plant will comprise around 4100 solar panels all positioned in a northerly direction at an inclination of between 26 - 30 degrees. The energy will generate a voltage of 6.6kV for use in Lonmin's operations.
