About this development
Development of a mine to mine Chromite on the Remaining Extent of Portion 1 of the farm Kafferskraal 460 JQ, Portion 6 of the farm Kareepoort 407 JQ, Remaining Extent of Portion 5 of the farm Boschfontein 458 JQ and Portions 2 of the farm Modderspruit 461 JQ, Madibeng Local Municipality District, in the North West Province. The project involves the sinking/excavation of two shafts as well as partial open cast mining and related infrastructure on the above mentioned property in order to extract the existing chromite seams. The chrome will be crushed and screened where after it will be transported off site for further processing. It is proposed that the access to the underground workings be developed from the old access shafts situated near the Bapong/Majakaneng. The proximity of this community makes environmental issues challenging.
