Construction of a Sintel Char Plant at the Grootegeluk Coal Mine, Lephalale. The project entails the construction of a plant for the production of char and formed coke from benches 11 and 13 in the Grootegeluk coal-mine pit for the ferrochrome industry. It is envisaged that production form the char plant will start at 80 000 tons per year and ramp up to 160 000 tons per year. Estimated project value: R389 million.
