Sidwadweni RWSS: Phase 5B, Contract 1

Construction of Phase 5B, contract 1 of the Sidwadweni regional water supply scheme in O.R. Tambo District Municipality, Eastern Cape. Project Value: R288 760 392.02. The scope of work for Contract 1 entails the construction of the civil and structural elements of the abstraction works, 6 Mℓ/day water treatment works, low-lift pipelines, access road and bridge across the donga erosion line, a portion of the steel rising main pipeline, as well as the bulk electrical 22kV overhead line as an Eskom self-build subcontract within Contract 1. Only the first approximately 580m of the steel rising main pipeline from the Malepelepe WTW will be constructed, up to the first air valve chamber. Sidwadweni RWSS is located approximately 24km north of Mthatha and adjacent to the N2 to Kokstad within the Mhlontlo LM area. The GPS of the Sidwadweni RWSS is 31°12'33.52"S 28°43'18.64"E
