Shituru Copper Project, DRC

Shituru high grade copper-cobalt deposit is located at Likasi in Democratic Republic of the Congo. The proposed project involves the development of a new high-grade copper mine. According to a scoping study, the project has an indicated resource of 7,9 million tons at 4,4% copper for a resource of 347 000t of copper. The Shituru deposit is a high grade oxide copper resource amenable to open pit mining. The mine will require relatively little investment in infrastructure, and is accessible from an existing paved road. The scoping study estimated costs at $228 million, although the feasibility study numbers will likely be larger.
