About this development
Upgrading of the Semera Airfield in Ethiopia. The airport is 8 km away from Logiya town and 3 km outside Semera town. Semera airport is located at Semera which is a new town on the Awash Asseb Highway, north east of Addis Ababa in the Afar regional state of Ethiopia. The project is intended to upgrade the existing runway and access road and the construction of new taxiway, apron and drainage line. It is estimated that the runway will have a total length of 2 500m having a width of 45m with a shoulder of 7.5m width and safety area with a size of 60m at both ends of the runway. The apron is estimated to have 200m x120m width with a shoulder of 7.5m. GPS Co-ordinates : 11°47′15″N 40°59′30″E
