Construction of a pedestrian link bridge over Sandton Drive in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The scope of works comprises the construction of a bridge link over Sandton Drive, comprising a northern and southern bridge, a central pavilion walkway, light towers and a northern and southern ramp. The bridge is to be fully earthed and will include the installation of cameras and data cabling with intermittent solar light fittings along the length of the bridge. The bridge will be constructed using structural steel profiles and panels with concrete floors and ramps cast-in-site on permanent formwork. Glazing elements will be fixed to the light towers. The scope will also include external work, with a retaining structure, paving, sundry metalwork and landscaping. The contract value is R26 million. The approximate GPS location has been placed along the proposed area of construction 26°06'38.1"S 28°03'05.3"E.
